Thavil Raja was invited by Vasu Dixit who was adding a folktronica twist to his rendition of the folk-fusion song ‘Mullu’ which had millions of views. Dixit said: I was doing the same kind of stuff[…] I felt I was not really experimenting with my sound. For “Mullu- Reignited,” the Vasu Dixit brings in Thavil artist Tavil Raja nadaswara by Dakshina Murthy, percussionist Madhu S.S., saxophonist Sweethin Hartman and mandolin played by Bharat A.S.”

Thavil Raja wass invited by Bengaluru Carnatic-fusion artist Varijashree Venugopal who is breaking new ground with the release of her song “Ranjani,”the first single from the composer, flautist and vocalist’s upcoming album Vari. The artist collaborates with Grammy-winning banjo great Béla Fleck, GroundUP founder and producer Michael League from Snarky Puppy and co-producer Pramath Kiran. Percussion ace B.C. Manjunath
